"Rhythm of the Night" holds a special meaning for many music enthusiasts. What’s the story behind your reinterpretation of this track, and what emotions or ideas did you want to convey through it?
The track "Rhythm of the Night" holds a deeply personal and meaningful connection for me. Its inspiration came from an unforgettable experience last year in Amsterdam during Eelke Kleijn’s annual 12-hour set at Thuishaven. The night was charged with energy, passion, and an incredible sense of unity on the dance floor. Eelke's set evolved seamlessly, moving from deep, melodic tones to uplifting, trance-heavy beats as the BPMs increased toward the end of the event.
At one point, I felt a profound connection—a silent understanding. It was as if Eelke was communicating clarity, joy, and shared euphoria, guiding us all through a collective musical journey. That moment sparked my desire to explore how my music can serve as a vessel for finding clarity and connection through passion.
Back in the studio, I channeled that same feeling of elation and unity. The result was "Rhythm of the Night"—an homage to the transformative power of music and dance. My goal was to capture the joy and freedom of losing oneself on the dancefloor, surrounded by others who share the same energy. It’s about the moments of healing and connection that only music can create—a celebration of togetherness and the rhythmic pulse that unites us all. The rhythm of the night.
You chose to work with Eelke Kleijn and his label, Days Like Nights. What drew you to this project, and what does it mean to you to collaborate with an artist and producer of his caliber?
Eelke has been an inspiration and a favorite of mine for many years. I've had the chance to cross paths with him around the globe—from Atlanta to Barcelona and Amsterdam. The inspiration for this project was rooted in the distinct sound he has cultivated in his DAYS Like NIGHTS Radio show and live performances. It felt only natural to share the track with Eelke and the team at Days Like Nights. Initially, I sent the idea to Corren Cavini, who believed that Eelke would be excited to hear it. The rest is history.
The support I’ve received from the team at DAYS Like NIGHTS and Armada has been nothing short of amazing. Working with an artist and producer of Eelke's caliber has been an honor, and I’m looking forward to continuing this relationship as the label continues to thrive.
Your music ranges from melodic techno to progressive house. How do you manage to balance these different genres while maintaining a unique identity as an artist? What do you find special in each of these styles?
Balancing different genres has been both a challenge and a rewarding part of my journey as an artist. My goal is to express myself in ways that resonate with a wide range of listeners. Just like the human experience, my music reflects varying moods—some days call for the uplifting and energizing vibe of progressive house, while others are better suited for the deeper, more melancholic driving tones that melodic techno provides.
Each genre holds something special for me. Progressive house allows me to explore expansive, emotive melodies that uplift and inspire, creating an atmosphere of hope and unity. On the other hand, melodic techno offers a darker, introspective soundscape that becomes a channel for expressing more complex and contemplative emotions.
This balance is especially important to me as I focus on shaping my brand. I’m aiming for a space where I have more freedom to convey these emotions authentically, showcasing the full spectrum of my artistic identity.
"The Serpent’s Call" with Adina Nova received support from artists like Cristoph and Nora En Pure. How did this collaboration come about, and which elements do you think made the track so well-received in the electronic scene?
"The Serpent’s Call" was an exciting project that grew out of the journey of a newfound friendship with my Canadian counterpart, Adina Nova. We discovered that we shared a common vision and ambition, especially as we set our sights on Purified. This alignment made the collaboration feel natural and inspired.
The track resonated well in the electronic scene because it captures a dark, emotive fantasy while still being powerful on the dancefloor. The combination of beautiful synth work, cascading arpeggios, and driving bass synths created an immersive atmosphere that drew listeners in. These elements, along with Adina’s artistic touch, helped make "The Serpent’s Call" stand out and garner support from notable artists like Nora En Pure.
Beyond the studio, your creativity is often sparked by travel and nature. Is there a particular place or moment that inspired one of your recent tracks? How did you manage to translate that experience into music?
Recently, I had the rare and almost forgotten experience of isolation. I spent my Summer on a mountain in the middle of Italy, where I worked at a winery nestled in the foothills of the Umbrian countryside. This time in such a serene, natural environment proved incredibly inspiring. The quiet, coupled with the breathtaking views, allowed me to reflect deeply and focus intently on my music. Spending a few months there, as well as in the beautifully rustic city of Perugia, helped me clear my mind and channel my creativity.
Translating this experience into music involved capturing the tranquility and raw beauty of the surroundings. The gentle, rolling hills and the sense of timelessness in the Italian countryside influenced the melodic and atmospheric layers in my tracks. I wanted the music to evoke that feeling of peaceful solitude, mixed with a touch of longing and discovery.
This time in Italy has been transformative, and I'm excited to bring the essence of this inspiration into my latest projects as I prepare for my next chapter.
