The Geors: "Loving what we do brings us opportunities"
Patricija and Andrea Geor, known as The Geors, are twin sisters and a female DJ duo inspired by piano music. They have performed at major events like the Ibiza-Frankfurt WCD Sessions, Exit Festival, and SSC Napoli matches, alongside renowned artists such as David Guetta and Steve Aoki. With gigs across Greece, Albania, and Macedonia, they also hold residencies at various clubs and radio shows in Spain and the UK, showcasing their unique blend of melodic and visual arts.
How did your transition from classical music training, such as playing the piano, to performing as DJs at international festivals come about? What challenges and opportunities did you encounter along this journey?
As little girls, young and filled with love for the piano and singing, we found ourselves on stage performing live, playing piano. However as we were growing, so did our love and enthusiasm for the music and that brought us on higher level adrenaline stage, the world of Djing. Our beginning on the DJ Pult wasn’t filled much with opportunities rather than challenges of course. By putting ourselves on work day by day, these two switched the positions, coming with more opportunities and less worries. How we got with this is actually not worrying about the environment and falling in love with this field more and more day by day by working on it.
You’ve shared the stage with major artists like David Guetta and Steve Aoki. What are some of the most memorable experiences from these collaborations, and how have they influenced you as artists?
Sharing stage with these big stars is of course a big honour, especially when it comes to learning certain things about djing from such an experienced Djs. In general we love making life lasting friendships with every dj we share the pult no matter what no reason.
As founders of the eyewear brand Gianni Geor, how do you balance your music career with entrepreneurship, and what values do you aim to convey through your brand?
Gianni Geor is our special sweetheart. It’s actually part of our identity, part of The Geors Identity, the enigmatic charm put in glasses that everyone will enjoy it. We love being busy especially when it comes about working on your passions, which are strongly connected actually. We use our skills and knowledge in both parts by representing our personas and expressing our true colour.
Your performances are known for their overwhelming energy. What are the secrets to keeping the audience engaged during your sets, and how do you mentally prepare for major events like the Exit Festival?
The music is very important of course. But when it comes about actually creating an event, creating memory it is the energy that creates the magic. We as a Dj Duo strongly believe that when You have the energy You have the night, when You give the love You receive the love, circled. We pay attention on the preparations before the events of course, like Exit for example yes, but what we carry the most about is the energy the vibe, without the main tool we are never fully prepared.
What are your future plans both as DJs and entrepreneurs? Are there any new experiences or projects you are particularly excited about in the coming years?
We usually work on the term * schedule daily obligations plan and expect nothing. We are excited each day that will give us new experience by investing in both of our projects, that way the Music, The Crowd, The Industry cherish us with new adventures, new people and never forgetting memories.
